Transport Time

Since I was little all I wanted to do was drive a big lorry as I called them back then, growing up I learned that the correct term for what I wanted to do was become an hgv driver.

My desire never changed all the way through school and as soon as I was old enough to learn to drive that just what I did, I found some cheap driving lessons online and after my first couple of lessons my instructor said I was a natural, I told him my desire to be an hgv driver and he told me that being an hgv driver was alot different to driving a car and it would take even more lessons and more tests, I knew all this and was prepared for a lengthy time of studying.

Once I passed my driving test I became a member of the auto association, my father was a member of the auto association too he swore by it, because if you got in any kind of trouble with your car the auto association were far better than any other rescue company around. Which was lucky for me as my first car was a cheap old banger and on my first long trip to the seaside I broke down, but being a member of the auto association my cheap old banger was back on the road within an hour or so after I called them and the trip to the seaside wasn't ruined.

A few days later I saw an advert in our local paper for a vacancy at a skip for hire firm just down the road from me, it stated in the advert that they were looking for a trainee and full hgv training would be giving to the right candidate, I couldn't believe my eyes it was like the advert was made just for me. No sooner had I finished reading the number I picked up the phone and called them, to my surprise once the guy asked for my name he said he knew me he was an old pal of my dads, he asked me to pop down later that day for an interview.

The interview went brilliantly and at the end of the interview he turned and said to me that if I was anything like my dad they would be lucky to have me so when could I start? I started the very next day and haven't looked back since, I am at the moment just finishing my hgv driving lessons so very soon I will be able to fulfil my dream.
